The magazine's stated goal is to be a "one-stop news source for internet-savvy street fashion enthusiasts frustrated with having to browse multiple sites to keep up with the latest information."
Imo, by offering this "one stop" site for the latest in urban fashion, viewers and readers can not only read about what is hot and upcoming. But they can also add to the "hype" by taking content and re-posting it on personal blogs and sites.
Overall, the Hypebeast site is higher up in the "blog ladder". By creating news content within one niche, it generates hype and many companies or industries do the same or utilize similar channels to accomplish the same thing.
